This year’s Oscar nominations announcement has been postponed by two days due to the devastating wildfires sweeping through the Los Angeles area. Initially set for Friday, 17 January, the nominees will now be revealed on Sunday, 19 January.
The voting period for the nearly 10,000 Academy members, which began on 8 January, has also been extended by two days, now closing on Tuesday, 14 January.
Among those affected by the fires are former Oscars host Billy Crystal, as well as Paris Hilton, James Woods, and Miles Teller, all of whom have lost their homes in the recent blaze.
