British rock guitarist John Sykes, known for his work with Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy, has died at the age of 65.

A statement on his official website announced that Sykes “passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.”

The tribute described him as a “thoughtful, kind, and charismatic man who could light up any room.” It also revealed that, in his final days, he shared a “heartfelt love and gratitude for his fans.”
