Ed Sheeran has stated that he had permission to busk in India after police halted his street performance.

Videos shared on social media show the 33-year-old singer from Suffolk playing his guitar and singing on Church Street in Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore) when a police officer intervenes and disconnects his microphone.

Addressing the incident in an Instagram story, Sheeran clarified: “We had permission to busk, btw (by the way). That exact spot was planned in advance—it wasn’t a spontaneous performance. All good though. See you at the show tonight.”
