A pair of Dame Edna Everage glasses, once belonging to Barry Humphries, have fetched over 25 times their estimated value at auction. Expected to sell for between £1,000 and £1,500, the iconic glasses ultimately went for £37,800, according to Christie’s auction house.
Humphries, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 89 due to complications from hip surgery, was honoured with a state memorial at the Sydney Opera House.
