Bad news for gamers. Grand Theft Auto 6 – one of the most eagerly awaited releases of all time – has been delayed until May 2026.

The sequel in developer Rockstar Games’ record-breaking video game series was due to be released on consoles later this year after a whopping $2billion development spend.

But the company told fans it needed extra time to “deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve”.

A firm release date is however now known, finally allowing a proper countdown.
